Following Coral Pink Sand Dunes we wanted yearned to be back among civilization... at least for a few days, to run errands, organize our RV, and get ready for spending our first Christmas in our home on wheels. We booked at Desert Canyon RV Park in St George, UT, a fairly new campground with spacious paved sites. We arrived the night before Thanksgiving. We try to avoid arriving at night on travel days but getting stuck in the dunes earlier in the day had us getting a bit behind with our plans. Plus, it also took our little compressor quite some time to get the tires back up to the pressure we needed for traveling with the RV. We left around sunset so most of our drive was in the dark. Thankfully it wasn't too much of a long drive and since we were driving towards a city, soon enough we had some lights around us.
The campground was easy to find and our pull through site was easy to get into. The kids enjoyed this campground as it had a pool that was still open (and just warm enough) and plenty of space for them to bike around in. Other amenities at this campground include pickle ball courts (which seem to be at every campground... too bad we brought our tennis rackets), a small playground, and the usual laundry/shower facilitates. The sunsets this time of the year were amazing! We enjoyed incredible sunsets each of the days we camped here.
But overall, not a very adventurous stop unless you consider trying to shop for Christmas decorations for our tiny home an adventure... which sort of was. lol We visited Target, Michael's, Home Depot, and ended up getting a pencil tree from Wayfair because they had the quickest delivery. We got vintage lights for the outside of the RV which reminded us of the Griswalds and Paul got too many lights for the inside of the RV... only then forgetting to put half of them up - which I was glad about because I'm not quite keen of string lights hung on their own (a yearly discussion among us - ha!). But as usual, the kids enjoyed having lights in their bedroom and in our living room. All lights were from the Home Depot.

At Target we found decorative items for our mantel. The Threshold by Studio McGee line had some beautiful options. We got a wreath thinking we'd use it on the outside of the RV but then realized that placing it on the door would not work since it gets slammed a lot and would also get in the way of keeping the door open. We tried it on the front of the RV which looked cute but it ended up living on our pantry door so we could enjoy it more (because what's the point if we can't see it? lol). Command hooks were our best friend for hanging the lights, wreath, and garland. No damage at all left behind and super easy to install - and this is not sponsored. lol
We got three garlands from Target for the tree, a star, and some plastic candy canes but decided to get crafting kits from Michael's for the rest of the decorations for the tree. The kids loved working on these and felt super proud of them. They said it was the best tree they've had, proof that size does not matter in the eyes of children. We set up all our decor while listening to Christmas music, per our yearly tradition, knowing we'd need to pack it all up soon because we had a few more moves to go before arriving to our final destination for the holiday season. But Christmas cannot wait... we were fine with the small inconvenience of packing things up in exchange for some holiday cheer for our little family.
